Hey now, not all of it is for the thrill! Part of it is cuz I'm simply an asshole.
[Sometimes you simply want to stab someone! Chobe flip flops from having deep, rational reasoning to behaving like a feral goose. One never knows what they're going to get. But he leans against the wall, amused this guy hasn't been scared off just yet.]
Haaah. You know what? You're either an idiot, or a pretty interesting guy. So if you're serious about that, how about we get to know each other face to face? Have a proper bonding session.
[ The possibility is very much there. At the very least, Kabru has a few forks and knives he's swiped from the dining area to protect himself if he runs into any trouble. ]
[ Kabru does have some confidence in his hand to hand combat skills when up against another human. That doesn't account for magic users, of course, but someone who sounds focused on weaponry use would probably not be a highly experienced mage. Either way, he'll take the chance, simply because he's curious about the other person, and he's no coward.
The partition goes up soon after. Behind it is a young man with dark skin and bright, blue eyes. Despite sounding wholly unimpressed before, Kabru manages to muster up enough effort to show Chobe a polite smile. It doesn't look completely genuine. ]
I'm Kabru. I don't think I got your name. [ at least i dont remember if they already introduced or not ...... ]
[Likewise, Kabru's met with a man who, on the surface, seems similar in age, solidly built but most of his visible skin covered in more scars one could count. His face especially is almost comically cut up, and his right eye completely blind. Not that he might be able to tell at first glance, given his spiky, messy hair. Dressed in some casual, Chinese dragon inspired street wear, at least he doesn't seem to be armed. . .?
Now with the wall between them gone, Chobe raises an eyebrow over his one good eye--so this pretty boy is the one talking such a big game, eh? He reminds him of all the ~beautiful~ executioners who fancied themselves above it all for how clean their strikes were, and how superior their morality was. But for more than one reason or another, he already knows never to trust a pretty face, and that smile Kabru has plastered on just solidifies that.
He shoots him a jagged, fang-like grin.]
Aza Chobe! The great Bandit King. Pleased to meet ya!
[And with little to no warning, he rushes Kabru, aiming to get a hand around his neck and shove him to the wall. Whether he succeeds or not is up to the other man--so what can this pretty boy do??]
[ There's so much you can tell about a person from looking at them alone, and Chobe's appearance was a telling picture of everything that he was. It was bursting with personality, in fact. A scarred up man who otherwise had all the musculature to hold up strongly in a fight. That jagged grin with teeth that almost look sharp. A bandit? Of course that's what he is.
Sometimes what looks like a duck and quacks like a duck really is just a duck. The man who's been talking about fighting and killing other people has just lunged at him with their grip aiming for his neck. This isn't a situation where chances can be taken. He only has one life in this place, and if he loses it, it's all over.
Though he doesn't manage to break out of that grip, his reflexes kick in immediately when he's slammed into the wall. With one hand he's grabbed on to Chobe's neck in return, and with the other, he's pulled out that fork.
Mercy isn't an option when you're trying to survive. He will attempt to drive that fork right into Chobe's neck, and he doesn't particularly feel any remorse. Whether or not he's successful will depend on whether Chobe can overpower him (which won't be difficult for a superhuman given that Kabru is as strong as a regular person). ]
At first, a part of Chobe is just a little disappointed. So this guy is just a normal ass man, human through and through. He could probably snap his neck here and now if he wanted, but it almost feels like a bit of a waste. The guy was so smooth and confident in his words--Kabru's as much of a liar than anything else, but there's no mistaking the utter confidence his voice had in everything he said.
Then Kabru manages to get his own hand around Chobe's neck. Not much of a scare, he'll be able to feel even the bandit's neck is pure muscle. But then there's a glint of something sharp--the fork. Ooooh, now we're talkin'. Chobe grins wild as he brings his face closer to Kabru's.]
Haha, look at you, sweet talker! You say you wanted to get to know me, but you're ready to kill me at a moment's notice. Naughty little hypocrite, ain't ya?
[And if Kabru's already pressing it against him--Chobe decides to help him out a little. He cranes his neck forcibly against the fork, driving it into his skin. What was that artery Kabru spoke of before. . .? That's right, a cartoid! Welp, that's been pierced. Blood begins to squirt out, and Chobe's words are staggered as he chokes.
But, he doesn't seem to be loosening his grip or even attempting to stop the blood. If anything, he's more riled up than ever.
This guy's fun.]
Now--that's more like it! How're we feeling, smiley??
[ This man's neck definitely was pure muscle. Kabru isn't even sure he would have the grip strength to strangle him, given how inhumanly sturdy the other man's body feels. Despite his efforts, he still hasn't turned the tide in their fight, strength paling in comparison to Chobe's. Even his attempt at stabbing him feels futile, and it's almost an insult that the other man decides to help. There's clearly not an ounce of trepidation or even mild concern within Chobe. He's either insane or insanely difficult to kill.
He's in a state of shock when Chobe actually stabs himself on the fork, slicing the artery that Kabru was aiming for, and this act alone signals danger in Kabru's mind. This isn't a normal human. There must be something more to them. Is he some sort of monster?! ]
Why -- What's wrong with you?! [ Blood is spluttering all over his face and chest, but Kabru pays it no mind, focusing instead on how to create some distance between them. Unlike Chobe, he's not going to survive being stabbed in the neck the same way.
It's ruthless, but since Chobe wants to stab himself, Kabru drives the fork across that neck, opening up the wound to make him bleed even more. He then tries to kick him across the stomach, hoping it'll loosen the other man's grip on him and free him from being pinned to the wall. ]
With the fork already deep in there, Kabru can get a nice, clean meaty slice through the rest of his neck. Of course that means he's gonna get showered with more red, but hey, better than dying, right? The gushing blood cuts off Chobe's words, sparing Kabru from more snide remarks for a moment, and while the bandit's just as solidly built there, a well placed kick is suffice enough to knock him back a bit. He does release Kabru for the moment, more concerned with drowning in his own blood, certain to drop to his knees at any moment. . .]
[. . .or he would, if he were any other man. The panicked expression turns into a look of sadism as Chobe smiles, and right before Kabru's eyes, his neck begins stitching back together. Vine like tattoos peek through Chobe's blood as they pull his skin back together as if it were as simple as zipping up a wound. Once he can speak again, he spits some excess blood to the side, and rolls his neck.]
Nice. So you weren't all talk! Gotta say, I'm impressed.
[As if Kabru needed more confirmation he wasn't entirely human. . .Chobe holds out an arm, and a thick, woody vine emerges, splitting his skin, and then whips over to try and snag Kabru to pull him closer.]
Well then! How about we get to know each other even better now?
[ There was absolutely no way it would be that easy. Kabru could already sense there was something abnormal about this man, and his suspicions were confirmed when Chobe cracks into a smile despite the gushing wound in his neck, standing in place despite the fact that most humans would be choking on their own blood. Then, he spots the vines that mend and stitch that wound he's created, and and the whole scene makes the other man look rather monstrous. Is this a form of magic? It doesn't look like any sort of magic he's ever seen. Those vines appear to be a part of Chobe's body, and it's more likely that he's a kind of monster plant. ]
What are you ...?! [ Monsters don't typically speak or have intelligence, from what he knows about them. Then again, there's a lot about them he doesn't know. There's no time to be pondering anything. Kabru keeps his guard up, ready to defend himself. If only the casino had spared him at least one of his daggers. How is he actually going to defend himself at all? ]
Stay back! I won't hesitate to strike you again! [ Not that he was hesitating before in the slightest. The vines latch on to his limbs and neck easily, and Kabru thrashes against them, using both his fork and his teeth to tear up whatever vines he can in a rather pathetic display. Since stabbing that man in his vital organs was useless, he should focus on getting away from the situation, and he resists the other man's attempts to pull him closer with all his might, trying to turn tail and run. He isn't a coward, but he also isn't stupid and knows his chances are slim when he doesn't even have a proper weapon. ]
Haah? I'm not comin' near ya! You're coming to me.
[It is really cute watching Kabru struggle like that. He's got some feral energy to him that Chobe finds fascinating. He's not letting up though, and another vine slinks out to sweep at Kabru's legs to throw him off balance, and drag him on over. Chobe will crouch to the ground to meet him.]
Now now, where did all that earlier confidence go? I thought ya ~wanted to get to know me~? Was that a lie, just tryin' to tell me what I want to hear. . .? Or are ya that put off by a little rough housing? [A mocking tsk tsk sound.]
As for what I am. . .
[He leans closer, and his skin darkens, parts of his body hardening like bark as dark vines creep over him. That seemingly dead, defunct eye now has a sinister glow to it.]
Human, monster, demon--it's all the same to me! But how this ends depends on your answer.
[ There's little he could do against vines. Perhaps, if he had a torch, he could torch this creature. Unfortunately, he doesn't have such a thing, and that would run the risk of Chobe not dying, but in fact turning into a terrifying, flaming inferno of a vined-man still trying to grapple Kabru in his vines. The thing he does need is a dagger, so he could cut these vines and break free. For now, he's helpless, thrown off balance and being dragged along the ground to meet the other man.
Chobe leans closer, body hardening like bark as those vines crawl out. He's definitely a monster of some sort. There's no magical spell he can think of that could cause a man to look like this. It's a scary sight, of course. Kabru is only human. He shouldn't have taken the chance to try and get to know someone who sounded dangerous, but he made the assumption they were a regular human. A regular human, he could handle. ]
It wasn't a lie, but am I supposed to have a conversation with someone who just tried to choke me out?! [ Make it make sense!!!!!!! Be normal!!!! Chobe's up close and personal, and Kabru still tries to maintain the distance between them by thrashing and kicking him in the chest. Anything he can do, really. ] Are you going to kill me?
[ Wouldn't be the stupidest reason he's died, but here, he might not be able to revive. ]
[It's entirely possible that's exactly what would happen. He'd just have a very angry flaming monster on his hands. 50/50 if it'd actually change the current situation.
Once dragged to his feet, Chobe crouches, that grin just shining through his dark form. The kick is stopped short by another vine just before it hits his chest, Chobe waggling a finger. Another vine pulls Kabru up to a sitting position--he's still ensnared, but at least he's propped up. How nice. Chobe cocks his head, snickering.]
What, I can't just say hi? What would've been the point of all that big talk if I couldn't walk the walk, eh? S'not my fault ya didn't ask for more details.
[He brings a clawed hand up to Kabru's cheek, digging in juuust enough to draw a line of blood. Then he brings his face close.]
Do ya want me to kill ya? I'm down for it! I love a good murder. But I can have fun in other ways.
[A snap--and all those vines suddenly retract, leaving just the monster before him.

[ There should be an acceptable reason. Then again, according to who? Kabru knows morality is relative, but he does have his own code that he goes by.
As for whether he wants to 'bond'? Yes. Despite this man getting a little under his skin, he's still curious about him. ]
Despite everything, I ... would. I still want to know you better.
