Because this thing is huge. It's not only our thoughts that are being influenced, but the whole city's, as far as I can tell. Any time I try to tell someone about the ship, they assume I'm just acting.

Although to be fair, none of them are in prison. Did anybody ever tell you what you did?

I haven't pieced everything together yet, but he had some kind of reason to want revenge against the warden. He'd already done something to get the guy who helped kill his dad arrested, and he used his access to the prison to sneak him in a weapon, so the two problems could take care of each other.
